Chinese New Year 2022 is almost upon us with millions of people across the globe set to celebrate. According to the Chinese zodiac, 2022 is the Year of the Tiger. The animal symbolizes strength, power and prosperity in the Chinese zodiac.

In various countries, festivities to mark the occasion, run from February 1 and are also known as the Lunar New Year or Spring Festival.. They culminate with the Lantern Festival on February 15th, 2022.

Celebrating Chinese New Year?

The occasion marks the start of the new year according to the traditional Chinese lunar calendar. It is sometimes also referred to as the Spring Festival.

Red decorations are a common sight during the festical. Red is regarded to be an “auspicious” colour and “money envelopes” are given to family and friends to mark the occasion.
