Bursaries and Scholarships
It’s truly disheartening to see how inflation impacts Singapore’s economy and its people, especially when it comes to the education of our children. Sadly, it’s the students from underprivileged backgrounds who are bearing the brunt of this situation. They are the ones who need our support and assistance the most, and it’s our responsibility to help them in any way we can.
We strongly believe that every child deserves a fair chance at receiving a quality education, no matter their family circumstances. As an organization, we are dedicated to supporting disadvantaged students and families in our community. We are committed to ensuring that all students have an equal opportunity to learn and thrive, and we work tirelessly every day to make that a reality. We strongly believe that every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their family background. We’re committed to helping support disadvantaged students and families in our communities.
We offer a limited number of bursaries and scholarships to Singaporean students whose families are experiencing the adverse effects of inflation. Our efforts can help alleviate some of these families’ financial burdens and allow their children to receive the education they deserve. To ensure that they will get the most out of their education, awardees will receive year-long tuition support for classes attended at any of our Elucidation Learning Centres in 2024.
Eligibility Criteria (for Bursaries):
Students applying do not have to be doing well academically. We believe that with the right attitude to learning, students will improve under the mentorship of our educators. However, bursary applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled and studying in an MOE mainstream school.
- The immediate family of the applicant student has Gross Monthly Household
Income (GHI) ≤ S$3000 or a Monthly Household Per Capita Income (PCI) ≤ $750
at the time of the application
Eligibility Criteria (for Scholarships):
Students applying for a scholarship award are doing well academically OR have significantly improved their academic performance. However, recent increases in the cost of living have affected their family, and they can no longer receive tuition. Scholarship applicants must meet the following criteria.
- Applicant must be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Applicant must be currently enrolled and studying in an MOE mainstream school.
- The applicant student’s immediate family has Gross Monthly Household
Income (GHI) ≤ S$4,500 or a Monthly Household Per Capita Income (PCI) ≤ $1,250
at the time of application.
Other Eligibility Criteria (Common):
The following requirements apply to both types of awards:
- Applicant should NOT be a current/former student of Elucidation’s classes, and they should NOT be related to employees of Elucidation Learning or any of its entities.
- Each award is limited to one subject per student awardee.
- Applicant must not already be receiving financial assistance from other non-MOE or non-governmental agencies or organisations.
- Award recipients must maintain a ≥ 95% attendance record and complete assigned work.
- The bursary/scholarship award ends on 30 Oct 2024, regardless of when students start lessons with the centre. It is NOT transferable, and CANNOT be encashed.
- Elucidation reserves the discretion and right to withdraw the recipient student’s award should they not adhere to the stated criteria/requirements.
- Elucidation reserves the right to use and publish the names, schools, results, and images of the student award recipients on its website, social media, print media and advertising collaterals.
- Elucidation reserves the right to amend any terms herein within.
- The award’s decision is final once Elucidation announces and publishes the names of the award recipients.
