My daughter, Charis, did not do well in her P5 mid-year exams in 2019. She barely managed to pass 2 core subjects and had failed 2 others. Read More
I was feeling very stressed when I stumbled across Elucidation Learning in July 2019. I remember Lena listening patiently. She assured me that it was possible for Charis to fare well despite the misgivings of her school teachers. She suggested a specially designed program that they had.
Charis joined the Daily Revision Program by Elucidation Learning that July and by year’s end, she went on to pass all exam subjects in school. Though the improvements were small, I was glad as we had managed to turn things around and these were her first steps in the correct direction.
Unfortunately, COVID-19 came upon us and Singapore went into a prolonged lockdown in 2020. The “circuit-breaker” months didn’t help but within a short timeframe, Lena and her team at Elucidation Learning rose to the challenge by switching to having lessons online and working closely with parents and advising us, on a regular basis, of the progress of our individual children.
As soon as restrictions were eased, the Elucidation team stepped in again, organising additional lessons for the P6 cohort in the centre – reviewing past learning, directing students’ revision and ramping up PSLE preparations as the exams were just around the corner.
As part of the Daily Program, Lena and the team watched Charis closely as she needed more help. Charis achieved 2As and 2Bs for her PSLEs in 2020. Relative to where she had started, these results were a huge improvement indeed. For this, I am thankful to the Elucidation team for their efforts and the work they did with Charis.
I am especially thankful to Lena for taking the time to listen to me that fateful day in July 2019.
Thank you, Lena, for the warm friendship and for believing in Charis.
